“In Spring 2013 we set out for a month to make a short educational piece providing a glimpse of what it is like to work in the creative industry. The idea was born out of our own questions and struggles on how to deal with things that may seem out of your control.
The themes we decided to focus on were those of creativity, relationships, the pursuit of financial profit, and the many directions you can intentionally or unintentionally find yourself taking. We hope the short provides direction in helping others pursue their own creative and personal goals by hearing first hand experiences. Thank you to everyone involved for your transparency and willingness to be involved.”

At some point my public writing was on the low side. I’d been willing to explore and share ideas and opinions but stayed muted.
People are quick to form an opinion of other and that’s why the limited set of and/or depth of your publication can potentially hit you back. Or can it?
I guess plenty of bloggers have felt this way. Writing a blog that the entire world can read is quite revealing and should be thought through. Or does it?
So you end-up writing a lot of drafts during this period – nothing get published – you keep pressing “Save Draft”.
This one could have probably stayed as a Draft but no, you are reading it now.
I’m far from perfect and practice is of essence to progress. Don’t be scared, share your thoughts and ideas. If they are to be acknowledged they will. If you keep them to yourself – no chance!

I’m no fan of the genre of CEO interviews published in the Sunday Times. But this past Sunday’s CEO-of-the-week column featured Marcus Ryu, a good friend and someone I’ve worked with at three different companies.
Marcus is not only very smart and someone who really knows what it’s like to build a company from the ground up, but he’s also someone who has thought very hard about what it takes to succeed as a company and what a company needs in its CEO. Unlike many CEOs, he doesn’t believe in gut instinct or the magical ability to judge character. He believes that success in business is hard and, as I’ve heard him say many times, there never is a day when suddenly everything becomes easy. If you are or want to be a CEO someday, I recommend it.

I’m really fond of leading by example. I feel it’s an absolute necessity to my professional and personal fulfillment. To me, a leader who stops leading by example is ultimately irrelevant.
There is nothing better than believing in what you’re doing and doing what you believe in.
I don’t have a secret weapon for you but YOU have one!
Most of us have attended schools that taught us that obedience and compliance were the master-pass to success and contentment.
I disagree, for me the real key is through the understanding of who you are and why you are doing things. That’s the only way of not disconnecting from yourself and your surroundings.
If you keep your eyes wide-open and listen to yourself, it will help you understand others and listen better.
- Stay aware of what really matters to you.
- Understand your talents.
- Be the best of who you are, be an artist!
